Doctor Kang is the one who theorized about making a nanotoxin. The Shop stole his idea and they weaponized it.
Season Three[]
In "Til Death Do Us Part" Nikita and Alex approached him because they needed his help. They told him that Loren Tolcher stole his research. Doctor Kang has agreed to help. In that moment, a member of The Shop triggered the nanotoxin which was place in the doctor in case he ever finds out about the face that they have stolen from him. He died soon after.
