Plot[]
Owen Elliot leads a Gogol team on a Guardian's safehouse, only to find that he's not there. Ari Tasarov disapproves of this waste of resources and implies that he may reconsider their business deal.
When Owen returns to his apartment, he is attacked by Nikita, who is angry at his alliance with Gogol. Owen assures her that he's using Gogol to find the remaining black boxes and he promised to kill Ari if he dared go after her. Nikita then explains that she needs a new black box, as she had to sacrifice her current one. At Division, Amanda finally gets wise to Alex's prolonged absence. Sonia informs her that Alex had accessed satellite images of the Udinov mansion, indicating that she's going after Semak. In Russia, Alex intimidates a mob into giving her guns and a knife with a black blade. Niktia cautions Owen regarding Gogol, stating that Percy tried and got burned. She admits that she was part of Operation: Pale Fire, that ended with Nikolai Udinov's death, but she saved Alex, confessing her true identity to Owen. She doesn't give an explanation as to why Alex doesn't trust her anymore. They then decide to get some good night rest, with Owen admitting that he's finally gotten off the Regimen. Next morning, Owen asks about Michael. Nikita admits that they're not talking to each other as of yet. When asked if she should call him, she avoids the questions and asks back about the Guardian. Owen retells how he saw the patterns in the Guardian, Patrick Miller, but then he vanished. This is unusual, as Guardians don't leave their posts unless it's a direct order from Percy. Nikita finds it unlikely, as Percy is locked up. Meanwhile, the Guardian is getting instructions from someone within Division to go forth with secondary protocol. Amanda strips Percy of all his privileges, including his good suit and furniture. She guesses that he's the most likely cause for Alex to go find Semak to get her revenge before she can retake Zetrov. Ari calls Semak, informing him of Gogol's efforts being focused on the box. He assures his boss that with Alex being hunted, she'd likely hide in Division, eliminating her as a threat. Alex stealthily makes her way back to her old childhood home. She has a flashback, where her father teaches her the difference between dependence and trust. Unfortunately, she triggers a tripwire, setting off a proximity alarm. She draws some blood and cuts off a piece of her fur coat, making it look like an animal set it off. She then hides in a tree before the guard could find her. Unfortunately, she falls while trying to get down and hits her head on a rock. She briefly hallucinates her father before falling unconscious. Returning to Miller's house, Nikita takes notice of the empty case of where Regimen should be. She figures that they might be able to find Miller through any black market development of Regimen and suggests that Gogol be used to track down any scientists who could do so. This surprises Owen about her changed attitude. He reminds her about her warning about Ari and suggests he might try to use the box. Nikita calmly tells him that's why he'll be there in person to make sure Ari stays in line. Owen suggests they call Birkhoff but that plan is shot down. Nikita admits that Birkhoff is still recovering from his torture wounds from Amanda. She then confesses to Owen that she feels that every time she feels that she's got control, she loses something. Owen reassures her that she always does the right thing. Ari calls Semak to suggest holding the black box to safeguard Zetrov against America. Semak feels it is dangerous, as the box may contain evidence that he ordered the Udinovs' massacre. As he hangs up, Owen comes in to offer a suggestion. Using Gogol technicians, they narrow down the list of scientists who could produce Regimen. Owen gets up to leave, but Ari states that he will send a team, before informing Owen of the change of plans. Owen leaves the building to inform Nikita of Miller's probable location. He then calls someone else, informing them about Nikita going in solo. Unfortunately, he is ambushed by Gogol, who stun him unconscious. Ari picks up his phone, finding its call history deleted. But he decides to space Owen to exploit his skill set. Alex wakes up, slumped against a tree, before thanking her father for her lessons. At Division, Miller's contact is revealed to be Roan, learning clues from crosswords puzzles Percy does to relay messages. He tells Miller to rendezvous in Amsterdam with the other Guardians. Nikita intercepts Miller and forces him to hand over the black box. Unfortunately, a Gogol strike team arrives. Worse, their firefight alerts the police, who arrest both Nikita and Miller and confiscate the box. Ari's team inform him of this development, especially with Nikita's involvement. In a flashback, Alex recalls while playing soccer with Yuri, nearby, her father is arguing with Semak over relations with America. Nikolai tells his right-hand to enjoy the beautiful day. As they are placed in a police vehicle, Miller presses Nikita as to how she found him. Nikita asks Miller if he knows what he's been guarding. Miller states the box is leverage, power and he knows the true face of Division. Though Nikita states that Percy is locked up, Miller's smug expression indicates otherwise. He then reveals a knife in his shoe, which he uses to cut his bonds. But before he could kill her, Gogol attacks the police convoy. After retrieving the box, Ari orders his men to execute both Nikita and Owen. But as soon as he's gone, Michael, revealed to be the one who received Owen's call rides in and saves them. They then notice that Miller has disappeared. At Owen's apartment, Nikita and Michael get to talking about both Max and Birkhoff. Owen panics, noticing from Miller's confiscated laptop, the Guardians have received the secondary protocol, an order from Percy to gather somewhere. Owen insists that they have to go search for the Guardians, insisting that Gogol can't use the box without Miller's blood. And they can track Ari from the tracker in his car. He suggests that they got after Ari while he goes after Miller. Nikita disagrees, telling Michael and Owen to go after the Guardians. Returning to Percy's cell, Amanda demands to know what he gave Alex for her solo mission. Percy admits that he told Alex if she wants to claim her future, she'll have to return to her past. While Nikita closes in on Ari, who has arrived at the Udinov mansion, Alex infiltrates her own mansion to find her mother, Katya, alive... |
