Plot[]
The episode begins with a flashback to Nikita and Alex talking about how they met. Nikita admits that she knew Division was responsible for Alex's parents' death. However, it was Nikita who saved Alex from being killed during the incident as well. Nikita shows Alex her own grave, which causes Alex to freak out and run away. Nikita tracks her down to a group of homeless and gives her money and a fake driver's license. Alex later returns and asks to join Nikita in taking down Division to exact revenge for the loss of her parents.
In the present, Nikita has Owen in her loft and she has chained him to a bed and is tending to his wounds. Owen gives Nikita the location of the black box, and he also says that he helped kill Nikita's fiance, on orders from Percy. Owen promises that the death was quick. Percy accuses Michael of disloyalty, but Michael refuses to submit to that, claiming that he doesn't have any kind of relationship with Nikita. Percy obliquely threatens Michael and Nikita by saying that operatives who don't follow his orders are all eventually killed. Meanwhile, Alex is given an evaluation on how to interrogate someone, a supposed Egyptian terrorist as to his the members of his group. But as she refrained from torturing him, the terrorist slips out of his bonds and attacks Alex before the agents outside could restrain him. Later, Michael tells all the recruits that they are going outside on a black-out bus for sniper training on one of their safehouses. Thom and Alex talk on the bus on the way, and he apologizes for kissing her. Then suddenly, the bus is attacked by an unknown group and capture all the recruits and kill their guards. Alex wakes up, strapped to a chair. A man enters, claiming to be the brother of the man Division captured and begins interrogating her. But unknown to her, everything Alex had performed recently was actually a test orchestrated by Division, even the prisoner was Division. Alex did not crack under pressure, however, giving out non-vital information. However, Amanda wants the interrogation to proceed in order to find out whatever Alex has been holding back. But Alex escapes from her bonds and holds her torturer, Emir, at gunpoint. When he advances on her, she shoots him, which Birkhoff interprets as a live round, before she escapes. A flashback then occurs where Nikita finds Alex after she ran away from the grave. Nikita tells Alex that she rescued her when she was younger. She gives Alex a fake ID, and explains about when she found out about the kill order on Alex's family. She saw that a 13 year old girl was on the list, and knew she had to do something. Nikita explains that she couldn't save Alex's parents, but found Alex in the basement and saved her. She also tells Alex that she had nothing to do with Alex being sold afterwards. Nikita then walks away from Alex, and the flashback ends. Alex then makes her way to a truck stop and phones Nikita about the incident. The latter realizes that Alex has been placed in a Division test similar to what happened to her. Nikita leaves Owen in the loft as she hurries out. Michael tracks Alex down and promises her that he won't let anything happen to her. When they get back to Division, it turns out that Alex didn't kill Emir, but actually hit him with blanks. Percy tells Michael that the operation was part of a test for him as well, to test Michael's loyalties to Division. He also wanted to check whether Alex would turn out to be another Nikita. Meanwhile Owen has escaped Nikita's loft, leaving a note explaining that he's returning to Montreal to retrieve the black box. |
