Plot[]
The recruits are given another training exercise, which makes Alex flash back to a discussion with Nikita and how going through the program changes people in different ways. Alex's team loses the match, thanks to the over-confidence of a recruit named Robbie and the reluctance of a recruit named Sara. However, Sara is chosen to be activated for a field mission, which makes gung-ho Robbie a little jealous.
Meanwhile Michael is still frustrated over losing Nikita, or at least that's what Birkhoff assumes. Alex informs Nikita about Sara, and Nikita realizes that Sara's being sent on a suicide mission. Sara records a video explaining what she's done in the name of Eco-Front, whom Amanda describes as an eco-terrorists, and Percy thinks she's ready for her first infiltration mission. However, Percy later talks to Amanda , and she says that Sara's poor performance during the team exercise has earned her cancellation. And they have a vest lined with nano-bombs ready to kill a group of Eco-Front protestors out of Texpro Oil. Alex intercepts Sara but is refused any disclosure about her mission. Therefore, she purposely makes Sara drop her info and spots the Eco-Front logo. She then informs Nikita, who searches the Internet. In the mess hall, Robbie goes to one of the guards to ask to see either Percy or Michael. The guard refuses his request. Frustrated, Robbie demands that he just do his job and pass on his message. The guard goes for his gun to intimidate him before Thom pulls Robbie away. As they sit down with Alex, Robbie complains the unfairness that Sara is the lowest ranking recruit being sent out on a mission. Thom reasons that Division needs Sara because she doesn't look like a fighter. Robbie counters that they don't even know what she's being sent on. Alex agrees with the latter, stating that they are all just tools to Division and tells Robbie that he shouldn't be eager to get outside. Sara is about to infiltrate the HQ of a large oil company, throw some oil for vandalism and run into the crowd of protestors outside. This attracts the attention of two security guards. Just then, Nikita shows up. It turns out that Sara's protective vest actually contains a huge amount of explosives which Percy plans to detonate in the crowd of Eco-Front protestors. He doesn't get the chance because Nikita activates a jamming signal to prevent remote detonation, removes the vest and throws it under a Division van, blowing it up instead and the agent inside. Sara gets the drop on Nikita and tries to force her to go back to Division, knowing that she'd be declared a hero for bringing in a known rogue agent. Nikita smugly states that perhaps Division had moved out of their HQ. Sara doesn't believe her and tries forcing Nikita to drive faster but Nikita refuses and takes her to her place instead after knocking her out. Back at her safehouse, the video Amanda made has already been broadcasted. Sara pleads Nikita to let her go, promising not to tell Division anything. Nikita refutes that claim, for the minute she walks out, she'll get a bullet in her head. Sara refuses to believe her and attempts to run. Nikita slams her to the ground and states that she knows more about Division than she'll ever know. They promise service to the country, when they will turn her into a heartless killer. Nikita explains that she doesn't want anyone else to go through what she went through with the program. Meanwhile, Robbie nearly catches Alex attempting to call Nikita through the shellbox . He keeps telling Alex about how good Division is compared with his life before the program. He tells her that once he's finally graduated to field agent, he can go all around the world like James Bond. Nikita tells Sara to record another video, this time having her confess that she is a Texpro supporter trying to get Eco-Front into trouble before getting set up with a new identity to go into hiding. Sara explains that she's trying to find her son, whom her parents forced her to give up for adoption so they could buy drugs. And the promise she made was for her son, whom she vowed to find once she graduated to field agent but Nikita reminds her that the past has to stay in the past and sets up a meeting with a forger named Gustav to give Sara a new identity. Once they get the papers, Nikita tells Sara that she will have to "go to school" to learn how to live off the grid. Sara rejects the offer and runs away. She makes the mistake of stealing a car with a GPS, which Nikita and Division could track, to head to the lawyer's office, where she demands to know the location of her son. Nikita comes buy later and convinces the lawyer to tell her Sara's whereabouts. Robbie learns that he's not going to be a field agent after all, but instead he's going to be a security guard at Division HQ, since Amanda considers him the perfect role model for the recruits. He thinks his skills are better than that and complains about it to Alex, telling her that there's no future for him here. Alex tries convincing him that his position as a guard could be beneficial, but Robbie doesn't believe her. Michael decides to go find Sara himself. Meanwhile, Nikita discovers Sara at the house where her son lives now. She talks her out of kidnapping her son, telling her that she'd be always looking over her shoulder and having to explain to him why she took him from the only parents he's ever known. Just then, Michael and a Division team show up at the house as well. Nikita drives Sara to have a standoff outside an abandoned house. Nikita called out to Michael that he just killed Sara, before having her lay down coverfire while she sneaks around to get the drop on Michael. However, Michael ends up returning to Division, because Robbie has snapped, causing a Code Black. Robbie is on a shooting rampage at Division, and Michael is called back to HQ to help stop the massacre. Alex finds him and tries offering to help him sneak out, telling him about the secret exit no one else knows about. However, when the other recruits arrive, Robbie takes Alex as a hostage, forcing her to taser him and take him down. Afterwards, Michael tells Percy that he saw Sara's body in the back of Nikita's car. Percy believes that with her gone, Nikita would have one less ally, as Sara's "confession" video has already been broadcasted. Later, Sara watches her son, named Daniel, from a distance, before Nikita takes her to her new life. Robbie, even though he's been officially canceled, isn't dead. Amanda is tending to him, and tells him that now he's being assigned as a cleaner, thanks to his lack of remorse when shooting and killing people. |
